How “18 to 35” Is Showcasing London, Ontario’s Creative Power — and How Half and Half Agency Helped Bring It to Life

London, Ontario is stepping into the national spotlight — and the buzz is real.

As CBC News recently reported, the new workplace comedy 18 to 35 is “putting London Ont. on the map” by giving local crews, creatives, and storytellers a real chance to shine. The series, which follows the chaos of life inside a youth hostel, blends sharp comedy with authentic small-city charm — and it’s filmed right here in London.

Half and Half’s Role in the Production

  • Cinematography by Federico Pereanez — As Director of Photography (2nd Unit) and Camera Operator, Federico captured the energy, humour, and texture of the show through London’s unique light and architecture.

  • Production Services by Half and Half — From crew and equipment sourcing to location management and associate producing, our team ensured every day on set ran smoothly — proving that high-quality productions can thrive outside the Toronto bubble.

Why This Matters for London’s Film Industry

Productions like 18 to 35 are more than entertainment — they’re infrastructure builders. By employing local talent, renting from local suppliers, and showcasing the city on screen, the show reinforces London’s potential as a creative hub for film, TV, and branded content.

It’s validation for the community that has quietly been laying the groundwork for years: from Fanshawe grads and indie crews to small production studios like ours who believe that London can compete — and create — on a national level.

Looking Ahead

Half and Half Agency remains committed to growing that ecosystem. As Associate Producers, Production Designers, and DPs, Paula and Federico are continuing to champion projects that highlight the region’s voices and spaces — from narrative films and documentaries to branded creative work.

London is no longer the “other” London. It’s a creative city ready for its spotlight.
