Coincidence - Film

Coincidence is a visually driven film built around mood, performance, and rhythm. The creative direction leaned into bold compositions, controlled lighting, and intentional camera movement, requiring a setup that could deliver cinematic images while remaining flexible and efficient for a medium size crew.

The project was produced using a professional Arri Alexa cinema camera and lighting package, proving that strong visual identity in film comes from creative choices, and smart gear.

The Challenge

Visually striking, performance-driven imagery

Precise lighting control to shape mood and texture

Efficient setups to move quickly between shots

A camera system that supported both static frames and movement

The goal was to create a strong visual world that complemented the track without overcomplicating production.

The Camera Approach

We focused on:

Super 35 cinematic depth of field

High-resolution capture for reframing and post and VFX flexibility

Lenses with consistent color and contrast

The camera language was designed to feel intentional, graphic, and rhythmically connected to the music.

The Lighting Approach

Lighting for Reality was designed to be stylized but controlled, supporting the performance while creating a distinct visual tone.

The approach relied on:

One strong key source

Controlled fill and accent lights

Minimal fixtures to keep the set agile

The lighting needed to respond to movement and performance without breaking continuity.

Lighting Used

Key Light

Aputure 1200d Pro

Used as the main key light.

Its output allowed us to push light through diffusion or bounce while maintaining a soft, cinematic look.

Fill & Accent

Astera Titan Tube RGB LED

Aputure Infinimate 1x4

Used for fill, edge light, or background separation depending on location and time of day.

Practical Lighting

Aputure Accent 7Bc

Used in the background and practical fixtures to:

  • Motivate light sources in frame

  • Add warmth and depth

  • Maintain control over color temperature without breaking realism
